1st Day of Preschool & Other Sept Fun!

So needless to say we can not believe our little girl has started Preschool! The first 3 years have gone so fast, and we could not be more proud of our beautiful little Preschooler :) The first few photos are of her first morning on her first day, Thursday Sept. 8th... a little tentative but very excited too. Zoey loves her teachers Mrs. Miller & Mrs. Baker, and has lots of really nice classmates, including our friend's little girl Zoey too... they are becoming quite the duo already :) We are enjoying the cooler weather playing with Zo's furry bffs Emmy & Bud, and having play days down at the river with our neighbor Jane and her pups Sadie & Lilly... as you can see Sadie LOVES when Zo throws rocks for her to dive after! We had lots of fun celebrating Grandpa Pat's 65th Birthday all together, at a surprise yummy dinner with his co-workers and a BBQ at our place. Zoey insisted we include some photos of us enjoying the cake we made for Grandpa... dark chocolate with cherry frosting, she was very proud of it :) We also made our first banana bread together from Nana's recipe she made me when I was little... a family favorite. We are becoming quite the "baker girls" in the Tumas house!

July & August Fun in Palisade!

Well it has been a seriously fun-filled summer and here are some of our highlights... we started off with a festive 4th of July here in town. Nana made it out for a couple of visits the last 2 months, beginning with the 4th and we celebrated with dinner with grandpa Pat & grandma Mary, swimming at the community pool, going to the Dinosaur Museum, playing in our backyard with Minnie & the pups, and joining in the town festival at the park. Zoey loooooved the baby alpacas & llamas there, and made quite a little buddy with 1 in particular, a real cuddle-bug :) The PBS Fun Fest came to Grand Junction and Zo & mommy enjoyed lots of kid activities on a really HOT day, thank goodness for the popsicles they handed out, and we had such a blast at the Mesa County Fair, we went 2 different days with some of our friends :) We joined daddy on 1 of his days in Glenwood Springs... he had to visit with clients but Zo & mom got to tour the town & SHOP, we 3 had a nice lunch together ;) Between fun days with our pets at home (we often play dress-up & EVERYONE participates whether they like it or not :) and some amazing thunder & lightening creating rainbows like we've NEVER seen, we hit the Olathe Sweet Corn Festival with grandpa Pat & grandma Mary, and then Nana was back just this past week with her boyfriend Chuck for our town's annual Peach Fest. After a super-fun Ice Cream Social & Street Dance, Parade, Pancake Breakfast & Park Festival with yummy fair food & rides, we are ready for a LONG nap :) We had a great time Nana & Uncle Chuck... thanks for visiting & "festivaling" with us!
