March & April 2010!

Hello again family & friends...
We hope the start of May finds you enjoying some Spring time fun. It has been a busy couple of months here, as we have been involved in our front yard remodel, but happy to say it is pretty much completed (just a little more planting & potting to do... is it ever REALLY done?:) Our first few photos are of the current stage - we will be filling in the new planter bed along the front of the house with lots more greenery, and adding in some colorful flowers around the new baby birch tree. As you can see, Miss Zoey loves the new walkway and has become quite the little gardner... I don't think she sets down her watering can for more than a few minutes at a time!

Getting back to the month of March, we had a fun time attending the annual Spring Spectacular up at the EATM program where I used to work. My good friend and former Assistant Director of the program Lynne was in town with her grandson, and we met her up there along with a bunch of graduates who are always excited to see her. Zoey had a fun time visiting with all of the grads kids, and her Nana Lina, who had a vendor booth selling jewelry at the event. The weather was beautiful and we all had a great time visitng and catching up on life. We also enjoyed a yummy dinner at Macaroni Grill celebrating Grama J's birthday. We love this restaurant... all the singing, coloring on the table, friendly waiters & hanging out with the cousins is always fun!

April brought along some Easter fun. Zoey & mommy colored our very first eggs together... mommy did the dye & Zo carefully placed Sesame Street stickers all over them. They were quite the hit at Gram & Pa Johnson's Egg Hunt 2010! Speaking of... Zoey did pretty well in her 2nd official hunt, with a final count of 43 eggs collected (with a little help from Uncle Jerry's added 20 or so:). This Easter was especially wonderful, as we all welcomed the newest cousin to the family, little Lillee Anne Maine, born March 8th, affectionately nicknamed "Big Lil'", all 6 lbs. of her! So thrilled to have this beautiful little lady in the fam :)

We continue to have lots of weekly fun on our "playday Tuesdays" with our 3 good buddies, have been perfecting our swim skills at class on Saturdays, and are getting to know our new neighborhood friends... we now have 8 little kids on our street all the age of 4 and under - 6 girls & 2 boys, poor little guys don't have a chance ;) We see lots of pool parties and barbeques happening in our future!

Needless to say we are having a great time with our little girl. She is fast becoming the most amazing little person and we feel so blessed to be her parents. She is talking, singing, dancing, mimicing, telling funny stories & cracking herself AND us up daily, and it is just too much fun :) As she does not have a sibling, we are so grateful for our dog Emmy, who has slipped into the "big sis" role very comfortably & has become Zo's best bud. Zoey has even begun giving her "commands" daily... "Emmy Come, Emmy No & Emmy Lay Down" are heard often in our house these days :) She's also giving Emmy her morning cookie each day, after putting her on a "sit stay" of course!

Well, Zo's 2nd birthday is quickly approaching, can't believe it, this Friday the 14th... I'm sure lots of fun stuff to share with you all in the next blog!

until then,
The Tumas Trio
